Where are you from originally, Patti?
I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. We later moved to North Jersey (Basking Ridge, New Jersey). I’ve lived in Northern Virginia for over 25 years now.

Tell us about your family.
I grew up an immigrant’s daughter, the 5th of 6 kids from parents who escaped communist Cuba in 1961. We spoke Spanish at home. I now have three sons, was a single mom for almost ten years and remarried two years ago to a retired Captain from USCG, Doug Menders. Together we have 6 sons – ages 16 to 22.

Where did you go to school?
I graduated from Rutgers in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with a double major in History/Political Science.

How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a go-getter, dynamic, personable, and organized, with a high initiative. I am detail-oriented, passionate, and loyal. I also consider myself a self-starter and highly motivated.

What is the last book you read?
Fanatical Prospecting

What is your favorite song?
Don’t Stop Believing by Journey

Who is your favorite president?
President Donald J. Trump

What motivates you to tackle the day?
God motivates me! I have to do His will, not mine.

What’s the toughest lesson you’ve learned?
The toughest lesson is that people may disappoint you. Be prepared for Plan B. You can’t control others; you can only control how you respond to them.

What would you consider your greatest accomplishment?
I have three accomplishments! My three sons are my greatest accomplishments. My oldest son, Michael, will graduate this May from West Virginia University, my middle son, Connor, is currently at Virginia Military Institute playing football, and my youngest son is a sophomore at Briar Woods High School with great potential to play football in college.

My 4th accomplishment … I am currently in my second term as President of the Loudoun County Republican Women’s Club. We grew our club to be the largest Republican women’s club in Virginia, and we are #1 in the U.S. with the largest percentage increase in membership at 636%.

How would your best friend describe you in three words?
Conservative, Loyal, Passionate

What was your most memorable campaign?
My most memorable campaign was for President Trump in 2020. I personally knocked on 472 doors, wrote over 200 postcards, called over 300 people, and attended 2 of his rallies. I also led and organized the Trump Capital Beltway Caravan on November 1, 2020. I was interviewed on WMAL radio and coordinated this 4,000-plus vehicle event.

Tell us about your favorite vacation.
Our ten-day honeymoon to Greece was my favorite vacation! We flew to Athens for two days, climbed up to the Parthenon Temple on Acropolis, took a ferry to the island of Mykonos, stayed in a decadent hotel for four nights, went on a sailboat trip, hiked up an ancient volcano, took another ferry to the island of Santorini for five nights, walked in town, shopped, and ate amazing Greek food.

What is the most memorable live event you have attended?
The most memorable live event I attended was in January 2016 at President Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. It was incredible to share this moment with my three sons. We took the metro down, walked through security, and got close enough to see him. It felt patriotic, and we felt proud to be Americans.

What’s on your bucket list?
Spain!

Favorite meal on the road?
Steak over green salad with a good red wine.
