Logan Hemmert is a Northern California native who has been slowly working his way east. Logan attended Utah State University, where he later served as the Foundations and Corporation Manager at the Center for Growth and Opportunity.

When he isn’t overseeing mail and digital advertising campaigns, Logan is exploring his new city, Jacksonville, and prepping for college football season.

Learn more about Logan in today’s #MeetMajority.

Favorite blog?
As a huge Michigan fan (borderline obsessive), I read mgoblog.com at least once a day to stay up to date on all news concerning UM athletics. Around the office, there are a lot of Ohio State and Michigan State fans, so I’ll be alone during the fall.

Favorite eats from your home state?
I’m a big fan of Beach Hut Deli. They have the best open-faced sandwiches that I especially love during the summer months.

What’s your favorite time of day? When are you most productive?
For someone who likes his sleep, I’m probably most productive in the morning. Typically, there’s a clean slate to start with where I can try to get ahead before things start piling up later in the day.

When and where are you happiest?
As a small-town boy and someone who grew up in the mountains, I love spending time in the middle of nowhere. Southern Utah is my favorite place to vacation, but I’d like to live in Wyoming or Montana someday because I need wide open spaces (quoting the Dixie Chicks).

What’s your favorite thing about where you live?
One thing I like about Jacksonville is that while it’s a big city, it’s so spread out that it feels like a smaller town. That’s a big reason why I’ve been able to adjust to living in a city that’s literally 10 times larger in population than where I’ve lived the past few years.

How many cities have you lived in?
Jacksonville is the sixth place I’ve lived. Most of my time has been spent in a few different areas of California, but I also lived in Indiana for a couple of years. Most recently I lived in Logan, Utah, where I attended school and worked after graduating.

What motivates you to tackle the day?
One thing I enjoy about working in politics is that every day has the potential to be different. I’m always motivated to get out of bed and see what the day has in store.

Thanks, Logan!
